Characteristics :
On the eve of the war MG TB had released the model would become, with very few changes, the first post-war model, the TC Midget.
The chassis was essentially the same, but the sliding supports trunnion spring had been replaced by attachment devices and more conventional rubber. MG was forced to these changes because the raw materials necessary to the original arrangements were unavailable. This simplified maintenance procedures without changing the driving.
The engine was the XPAG of 1250 cm3 which had proved its worth. The transmission was single-disc, four-speed synchromesh TB. Hydraulic brakes were 9-inch son on wheels with central nut.
The TC was proposed that a single model, a convertible two-seater very similar to TB. We found the folding windshield cut in doors, front wings and rear stretched, flattened gas tank and spare wheel fixed above. Despite his character already dated both style issue mechanically, the MG TC immediately found its market. Many reasons have been advanced for this: the lack of other cars or the familiar appearance of pre-war cars, anyway the success of the MG TC took some by surprise.
Aware that its exports depend on its supplies of raw materials, MG tried to sell abroad and arrived there not bad. So much so that in four years (1945-49) are approximately 10,000 cars that were built, many of which was shipped to the US where they sparked new enthusiasm for sports cars and motorsport General. It is amusing to note how this car, which was to be a transition model could be successful by generating sales figures well beyond the pre-war figures. On the eve of the war MG TB had released the model would become, with very few changes, the first post-war model, the TC Midget.
