Aston Martin DB11
the Aston Martin DB11 uses a new engine, developed by Aston Martin: a 12-cylinder in V of 5.2 liters displacement, supercharged by two turbochargers, and placed at the front. The package produces 608 hp at 6,500 rpm and 700 N m of torque from 1,500 to 5,000 rpm. This engine has a system of cylinders on demand: thus, the engine works with 6 cylinders as long as a torque of less than 250 N m is requested. In this mode, the engine alternates between the 2 banks to prevent the catalysts from cooling down. It is also equipped with a Stop and Start system to reduce consumption.
This engine is manufactured at Ford's Cologne plant.
This is the brand's first turbocharged engine. The V12 is associated with an 8-speed automatic gearbox of ZF origin controlled by paddles on the steering wheel, and offers 3 driving modes: GT, Sport and Sport Plus.
